Night of the Gargoyles by Year 6!

Year 6 wrote extended pieces of writing based on the book ‘Night of the Gargoyles’ by Eve Bunting. They were encouraged to create suspense within their writing through the use of techniques such as: short-sentences, the past progressive tense, the rule of three, prepositional phrases and varied sentence openers. The children were also asked to demonstrate accuracy and to show their control of speech within a narrative setting. Key to their success was using accurately punctuated speech to help progress their story.
